On 18th-19th of June 2011, European Association for the Defense of Human Rights – AEPADO organized the first Module of training in the frame of JUMIGG – ”Young multipliers against violence” in Bucharest, Romania. The purpose of this training was to give the participants the chance to know one each other and to provide them an overview of the concept of violence prevention.
During these ten hours, the ten youngsters dealed with games and exercises for teambuilding, the basics of the concept of violence, they identified the violence in their environment and they started to talk about how can we approach violence prevention.
The pedagogical tools we used offered theory fundamentals and applications using nonformal education. We had also a playrole where the participants were supposed to approach a teenager as being a trainer in their future process of violence prevention.
At the end of the training, the participants gained the following competencies: understanding the concept of violence (types, ways etc), accepting different points of view and diversity, getting a better understanding on human resources motivation and developing teamwork skills.
